Microsoft IIS Monitoring Tools
Microsoft IIS (Microsoft Internet Information Services) is a popular web and file server. IIS was created for use with the Windows NT family and was formerly known as ‘Internet Information Server’. Microsoft IIS is available to be used on all versions of Windows Server. The flexibility ensures that anything from media streaming to web applications can be handled within IIS’s scalable architecture, meaning it is well suited to even the most demanding of tasks.
What You Can Monitor
Opsview Microsoft IIS monitoring tools allow you to monitor all the metrics you need to efficiently run a Microsoft IIS Server, providing service checks for the IIS Service and the IIS Admin Service.
Service Checks
Service Check | Description |

IIS Service | Checks that the IIS Service is running |
IIS Admin Service | Checks that the IIS Admin Service is running |
Microsoft IIS Monitoring Setup and Configuration
To configure and utilise this Opspack, you need to add the 'Application - Microsoft IIS' Opspack to your Opsview Monitor system.
Step 1: Add the host template
Add the Application - Microsoft IIS Host Template to your Opsview Monitor host.

Step 2: Add and configure variables required for this host
Host Variable | Description |
---|---|
NRPE_CERTIFICATES | Optional, used for specifying certicate details when using certificates. The Value is not used and therefore can be set to anything. Override the path to the Certicate, Private Key and CA Certicate with the details of your certificate. |
NRPE_CIPHER | Optional, used for specifying ssl cipher. The Value is not used and therefore can be set to anything. Override the Cipher List to specify the ciphers you want to allow. |
