HTTP Monitoring

HTTP is an application protocol for distributed, collaborative, and media information systems as well as the foundation of data communication for the web. This Opspack checks whether your host responds to unencrypted and encrypted HTTP requests in a correct and timely fashion.

What You Can Monitor

HTTP monitorings tests the HTTP service on the specified host. It can test normal (http) and secure (https) servers, follow redirects, and measure connection times. Additionally, it can return the expiration date of the servers SSL certificate.

Service Checks

Service Check Description
HTTP Determines if the host is responding to HTTP requests.
HTTP using SSL Determines if the host is responding to HTTPS requests.
HTTPS Certificate Expiration Check Returns the HTTPS certificate status and expiration date.

HTTP Monitoring Setup and Configuration

To configure and utilize this Opspack, you simply need to add the 'Application - HTTP' Opspack to your Opsview Monitor system.

Step 1: Add the host template

Add the Application - HTTP Host Template to your Opsview Monitor host.

Step 2: Apply changes and the system will now be monitored
