Microsoft Exchange Client Connectivity Monitoring

Host Template: Application - Microsoft Exchange - Client Connectivity

Monitor the status of your Microsoft Exchange client connectivity with a variety of checks including connectivity, Client Access Server latency and ActiveSync requests.

This Host Template includes the following Service Checks:

Exchange - Connectivity - POP Status	Check that the Microsoft Exchange POP3 service is working as expected. If not run with verbose mode, results will be truncated and summarised.	N/A	ms
Exchange - Connectivity - Web App Connected Users	Shows the number of unique users currently logged on to Outlook Web App. This value monitors the number of unique active user sessions, users are only removed from this counter after they log off or their session times out. Exchange - Connectivity - Client Access Server Latency	Shows the average latency in milliseconds of CAS processing time (does not include time spent proxying) over the last 200 requests. If not run with verbose mode, results will be truncated and summarised.	cas_latency=2000,4000	ms
Exchange - Connectivity - ActiveSync Requests	Shows the number of HTTP requests received from the client via ASP.NET per second. Determines the current Exchange ActiveSync request rate. Used only to determine current user load.	N/A	N/A

Usage Instructions

Ensure you have set the Primary Hostname/IP field of your Opsview Host to the hostname or IP address of your exchange server.

Step 1: Add this Host Template

Add the Application - Microsoft Exchange - Client Connectivity Host Template to your Opsview Monitor host. If the resource you're monitoring has no hostname or public IP, then open the Advanced settings pane and change Host Check Command to Always assumed to be UP.

Step 2: Add and configure variables required for this Host Template

The Service Checks in this Host Template use the following variables, and they will be added to your Opsview Monitor instance when you import the Opspack:

KERBEROS_REALM

Only required if authenticating using Kerberos.

WINRM_TRANSPORT

Opsview UI Only	Arg4	Extra Args	Extra args for check_by_winrm. The value is appended to the check_by_winrm call.
